What is artichoke?

 

Artichoke is a kind of thistle and edible part of the plant is flower buds. Other parts of the plant like stem, root, and leaf are used to make artichoke extract. Due to its high medicinal property, it is very popular. It is produced mainly in the Mediterranean region.
